CHBC Boys, Girls Claim Track Wins

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City captured both the boys and girls high school track meets held at Effingham St. Anthony High School Tuesday.

CHBC won the girls meet with 85 points followed by St. Anthony 55 and Altamont 36.

The Bobcats were led in scoring by Duckwitz with three victories. Duckwitz won the 200 in 27.23 seconds, the long jump at 15 feet, 10 inches and the 100 in 12.96 seconds. Robertson and Lorton claimed two victories each. Robertson won the triple jump at 34-8 and the 100 hurdles in 16.10. Lorton captured the 800 in 2:35.10 and the 1600 in 6:30.71.

McKittrick claimed the shot with a throw of 28-9. The Bobcats also won the 400 relay in 55.36 and the 800 in 1:57.60.

Altamont's Jackman won the 300 hurdles in 51.65, the high jump at 4-10 and the discus at 78-7. Hosick was a winner in the pole vault at 8-0 and Sandoval captured the 3200 in 14:16.

St. Anthony won the 3200 relay in 10:53.42 and the 1600 relay in 4:35.03. Carr picked up a victory in the 400 with a time of 1:03.31.

In the quadrangular boys meet, CHBC captured the win with 95 points followed by St. Anthony 62, Altamont 57 and Teutopolis 46.

Dylan Webster was a winner in four events for the Bobcats. He claimed the 100 in 11.33, the 400 in 55.27, the pole vault at 13-6 and the long jump at 20-1. Dylan Taylor was a winner in two events, the 800 in 2:16.47 and the 1600 in 4:56.08. Jadon Robertson also was a double event winner. Robertson claimed the 100 hurdles in 16.80 and the 300 hurdles in 44.25.

Yingst was the other winner for CHBC in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 9 inches. The Bobcats' 3200 relay team won in 9:19.56.

Delaney was a double event winner for Altamont. Delaney won the 200 in 25.42 and the triple jump at 37-2 1/2.

St. Anthony claimed the 400 relay in 48.50, the 800 relay in 1:38.41 and the 1600 relay in 3:45.40.

Teutopolis' Kingery picked up two victories. He claimed the shot with a heave of 43 feet, 11 inches and won the discus at 169-7. N. Probst captured the 3200 in 10:37.24
