Effingham Blanks Shelbyville In Tennis

Effingham High School whipped through tennis competition against Shelbyville and blanked the Rams 9-0 Tuesday.

The Hearts top three singles players went 6-0, 6-0 against their opponents and that included Blayne Pals, Cannon Bockhorn and Evan Pryor. Blake Hagler also claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5.

Ross Schaefer won the No. 4 spot, 6-1, 6-0 while Dirk Essengern downed his opponent in a tougher match, 1-6, 6-3, 11-9.

In doubles play, Pals and Bockhorn were 6-1, 6-1 winners. Pryor and Schaefer combined to win 6-0, 6-0. Preston Siner and Rece Kinney were 6-0, 6-0 winners at No. 3 doubles.
