Bulldogs Hand Eagles Tennis Loss; Hearts Win

Manaye Mossman and Evan Mossman claimed two victories each as Effingham St. Anthony handed Newton a 7-2 loss in tennis competition Friday.

M. Mossman went three sets before handing Newton's Isaac Street at 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 loss in No. 1 singles action.

E. Mossman claimed the No. 2 singles victory by beating Newton's Wesley Britton, 6-0, 6-1.

The two then paired up at the No. 1 doubles spot to win over Street and Britton, 6-0, 6-1.

Colin Westendorf was a winner for the Bulldogs at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-3 while Jackson Schultz took No. 5, 6-1, 6-1 and Alec Hakman claimed No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.

Newton's Alex Bigard was a winner at No. 4, 7-5, 1-6, 10-7.

In doubles, A. Bigard and Brennan Bigard combined for the No. 2 win, 6-3, 4-6, 12-10.

Connor Eggers and Schultz combined to win at No. 3 doubles, 6-2, 6-1.

At Effingham

At Mahomet

Effingham handed Mahomet-Seymour a shortened tennis loss Friday by a 5-1 count.

Only singles was contested. The Hearts claimed five of the six matches.

Blayne Pals was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at the No. 1 spot. Cannon Bockhorn took No. 2. He won the opening set 6-4 then fell in the second set 6-2. He won the match 11-9.

Ross Schaefer captured No. 3, 7-5, 6-1. Evan Pryor was a winner at No. 4, 6-4, 6-1 and Rece Kinney took the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-4.

At Mahomet
