Effingham handed Champaign St. Thomas More an 8-1 loss in tennis competition Friday.

The Bulldogs swept through doubles action. Evan Mossman and Manaye Mossman won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1. Colin Westendorf and Joey Trupiano were winners at No. 2, 6-4, 6-3. Connor Eggars and Jackson Schultz combined for 6-1, 6-1 victories

In singles play, the Bulldogs claimed five of the six matches. M. Mossman was a winner at No. 1, 6-1, 6-3. E. Mossman took the No. 2 spot, 6-1, 6-2.

Trupiano was a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 winner at No. 4. Eggars won the fifth spot, 7-5, 6-1. Schultz blanked his opponent at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.

At Effingham

No. 1 -- Manaye Mossman (SA) defeated Hutner Madison (STM), 6-1, 6-3

No. 2 -- Evan Mossman (SA) defeated Will Devocelle (STM), 6-1, 6-2

NO. 3 -- Wyatt Kirby (STM) defeated Colin Westendorf (SA), 7-6 (4), 6-4

NO. 4 -- Joey Trupiano (SA) defeated Jack McMahon (STM), 6-4, 4-6, 10-6

No. 5 -- Connor Eggars (SA) defeated Thomas Corapi (STM), 7-5 6-1

No. 6 -- Jackson Schultz (SA) defeated Christian Garcia (STM), 6-0, 6-0

No. 1 -- E. Mossma-M. Mossman (SA) defeated Devocelle-Madigan (STM), 6-2, 6-2

No. 2 -- Westendorf-Trupiano (SA) defeated Kirby-McMahon (STM), 6-4, 6-3

No. 3 -- Eggars-Schultz (SA) defeated Grant Evangelisti-Jack Rentschler (STM), 6-1, 6-1

 

At Charleston

Teutopolis blanked Charleston in Thursday competition, 9-0.

The Wooden Shoes swept singles play. Kolten Tabbert won at the top spot, 6-0, 6-2 while Colin Habing took No. 2, 6-1, 6-0.

Oliver Lee was a winner at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2. Carter Davidson finished with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4. Myles Stortzum downed his opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 and Will Lewis finished out with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.

In doubles play, Tabbert and Habing combined for a 6-3, 4-6. 10-0 win. Lee and Noah Thompson were winners at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2. The final spot also went to the Shoes as Davidson and Stortzum combined, 6-0, -0.
