St. A Doubles Take First And Second At Logan Doubles Tennis Invite

Effingham St. Anthony High School competed in the Robert Logan Doubles Tennis Invitational Friday and Saturday.

The No. 2 doubles team of Evan Mossman and Adam Rudebaugh captured first place.

The pair won over Luke Boyd and Victor Humphrey of Alton, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 and Tahla Arshad and Ubdaydah Mahmoud of Chatham Glenwood, 9-7. The pair then beat T-town's Oliver Lee and Noah Thompson, 9-8 for the championship.

Manaye Mossman and Aidan Tegeler finished second at the No. 1 doubles spot.

The pair won over Austin Kirwin and Erik Johnson of Rockton Hononegah, 6-3, 6-1, defeated Carter Siemen and Joseph Doerfier of Chatham Glenwood, 6-3, 6-1 and Ethan Fouchheaux and Coen Loethn of Jefferson City Helios, 8-6.

The pair fell to Cameron Will and Rowen Bruner of O'Fallon, 8-5 to finish second.

The No. 3 doubles team of Connor Eggars and Matt Herzing lost to Will Schiller and Tom Hale of Desmet, 6-2, 7-5 and Carson Gruenloh and Jacob Vahle of O'Fallon, 6-0, 6-0. They won over Lucas Johnson and Max Valdez of Fort Zumwalt South, 8-2.

The No. 4 doubles team of Jackson Schultz and Bryan Walker lost to Braden Freeman and Jaden Bierman of Alton, 6-2, 6-1; Brendan McCiory and Colin Groves of Waterloo 8-0 and Gabe Whitten and Grayson Chatham of Fort Zumwalt South, 8-1.
