PARIS -- Effingham High School called on Paris for boys tennis action Thursday and handed the Tigers an 8-1 loss.

The Hearts claimed five of the six singles matches. Thad Dillow took the top spot, 6-1, 6-0 while Blayne Pals won, 6-4, 6-3. Evan Pryor went 7-6 (3), 6-2 for the No. 3 spot. Ross Schaefer was a winner at No. 5, 6-2, 6-2 and Cannon Bockhorn had to go 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (2) before winning.

The lone loss was by Preston Siner, who foguht hard before falling, 2-6, 7-6 (4), 1-0 (8).

In doubles play, Dillow and Pals won 6-4, 6-1 while Pryor and Siner had a tough match but pulled out a 6-4, 6-7 (6), 1-0 (6) victory. Schaefer and Bockhorn also had a tough match, winning 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (4).
