Mattoon High School came callng and handed Effingham a 7-2 loss in tennis action Wednesday.

The Hearts tallied two points, one in singles and one in doubles play.

Thad Dillow captured the top spot for the Hearts, blanking his opponent, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, Dillow and Blayne Pals were winners, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1.

Tyler Nohren and Preston Siner went down at No. 2 doubles but pushed the match, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-4.

No. 2 -- Josh Ramage (M) defeated Blayne Pals (E), 6-1, 6-3

No. 6 -- Matt Carpenter (M) defeated Dane Seiler (E), 6-2, 6-0

Doubles

No. 1 -- Dillow-Pals (E) defeated Ramage-Farmer (M), 6-4, 6-3

No. 2 -- James-Donaldson (M) defeated Nohren-Siner (E), 7-5 (4), 3-6, 10-4

No. 3 -- Ty Eastin-Jason Jaing (M) defeated Seiler-Isaiah Rubin (E), 6-0, 6-2
