Paris handed Effingham a 7-2 loss as the high school tennis season got underway Thursday.

The two points for the Hearts came at the No. 1 singles as Thad Dillow defeated Fox Davis, 6-0, 6-1 and at the No. 5 singles as Evan Pryor won over Cooper Kuglin, 6-1, 6-4.
