Effingham High School blanked Vandalia, 9-0 in tennis competition Tuesday.

Caroline Kull opened singles play at the No. 1 spot by blanking her opponent, 6-0, 6-0. Riley Arend and Chloe Aden also had 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively.

Lydia Kull was a 6-0, 6-1 winner while Eden Wendling tallied a 6-0, 6-2 victory. Jackeline Garci won 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles play, L. Kull and Wendling combined at the top spot to win, 6-2, 6-1. Gracie Kroenlein and Aila Woomer took No. 2, 7-5, 6-3. Madison Mapes and Courtney Beck finished out with 6-1, 6-1 wins.

"The girls played well tonight and were able to all come up with a win at some new lineup positions," said EHS Coach Erik Wililamson.
