EHS, St. Anthony Drop Tennis Matches

Teutopolis High School moved its tennis record to 5-0 on the season by blanking Greenville 9-0 Monday.

In singles play, K. Mossman and M. Deters blanked their opponents at No. 1 and No. 4 respectively, 6-0, 6-0. J. Pals won at No. 2, 6-2, 6-0 while S. Probst claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3. A. Deters downed his opponent at No. 5, 6-1, 6-0. C. Apke won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles play, J. Pals and S. Probst won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. No. 2 went to A. Deters and M. Deters, 6-0, 6-0. C. Apke and J. Dixon won at No. 3, 3-6, 7-6, 13-11.

At Teutopolis

No. 1 -- J. Pals-S. Probst (TT) defeated C. Watterson-S. Owens (G), 6-0, 6-0

No. 2 -- A. Deters-M. Deters (TT) defeated D. Kester-C. Grove (G), 6-0, 6-0

No. 3 -- C. Apke-J. Dixon (TT) defeated E. Oakley-C. Earth (G), 3-6, 7-6, 13-11

 

At Effingham

Effingham played host to Robinson in high school tennis action and dropped a 5-4 loss Monday.

 

The Hearts only picked up two of the six singles matches. Winners were Parker Siner at No. 2 over Brendan Inbiden, 6-2, 6-3 and Nate Linders at No. 3 over Lucan Blunier, 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles play, the Hearts won the top two spots. Ben Donsbach and Siner combined to win, 6-3, 6-4. Linders and Barr then took a tough match at No. 2. The pair lost the opener 6-0 but rallied for 6-4, 10-4 scores to win.

EHS will be back in action Thursday at Paris.

At Mount Zion

Mount Zion played host to Effingham St. Anthony and picked up a 4-0 win Monday.

The Braves won all three singles matches and claimed the doubles contest.
