EHS, T-town Capture Tennis Victories

Effingham High School played host to Casey-Westfield and sent the Warriors home with an 8-1 tennis loss Monday.

The Hearts swept singles play as Alessandro Boca, Matt Linders, Nick Katz, Nate Linders, Parker Siner and Ben Donsbach claimed victories.

In doubles play, Casey-Westfield took the top spot but the Hearts claimed the next two. Siner and Donsbach combined to win 7-5, 6-6(7-4) and N. Linders and Nick Beck won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3.

The Hearts are now 1-3 on the season.

At Effingham

Singles

No. 1 -- Alessandro Boca (E) defeated Christian Cochinour (CW), 6-4, 6-3

No. 2 -- Matt Linders (E) defeated Patrick Harder (CW), 5-7, 6-0, 6-3

No. 3 -- Nick Katz (E) defeated Luke Hunt (CW), 6-6(7-3), 6-3

No. 4 -- Nate Linders (E) defeated Clayton Young (CW), 6-3, 5-7, 6-4

No. 5 -- Parker Siner (E) defeated Gabriel Cochinour (CW), 6-1, 6-1

No. 6 -- Ben Donsbach (E) defeated Trey Huisinaga (CW), 6-3, 6-1

Doubles

No. 1 -- Cochinour-Hacker (CW) defeated M. Linders-Katz (E), 6-2, 6-4

No. 2 -- Siner-Donsbach (E) defeated Hunt-Young (CW), 7-5, 6-6(7-4)

No. 3 -- N. Linders-Beck (E) defeated Cochinour-Huisinaga (CW), 6-1, 6-2

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis just keeps rolling along as the Wooden Shoes blanked Flora 9-0 in action Monday.

The closest match in singles play came at No. 3 as Noah Pals downed Matthew Suntrup 7-5, 6-1.

In doubles play, Pals and Alex Probst also had the closest match, winning 7-5, 6-0.

The Wooden Shoes are now a perfect 5-0 on the season.
