Elizabeth Kreke threw a one-hitter and Effingham had 11 hits for a 14-0 win over Centralia in four junior high softball innings Thursday.

Kreke went the four innings, allowing one hit, four walks while striking out nine.

Meanwhile, the Mustangs were on offensively. Olivia Koester led the way with two singles and a double. Charlee Emmerich added two singles and an RBI and Aubrey Poe two singles and three RBI. Addi Barnes added a single and three RBI while Molly Maxedon had a single and an RBI. Kreke aided her own cause with a single and an RBI. Addy Veach had two RBI.

At Mattoon

Despite the fact Effingham St. Anthony outhit Mattoon, the Bullpups fell in a 7-2 loss Thursday.

The score was tied at 1-1 in the second and Mattoon moved ahead 2-1 in the third. St. Anthony tied in the top of the fourth but Mattoon moved into a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the frame then had four runs in the fourth.

Livia Jansen had a triple and an RBI while Emeline Wines added a double. Claire Kinkelaar, Alexa Wagner and Peyton Clark had two singles each. Reese Hoene added a single and an RBI.

Mattoon had eight hits and did not allow a walk.

At Okaw Valley

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg's Edie Wittenberg and Kalia Friese combined to throw a no-hitter in a 20-2 three inning victory Thursday over Okaw Valley.

Wittenberg went two innings, allowing two runs on no hits and five strikeouts for the win. Friese threw the final inning and did not allow any hits or walks.

Meanwhile, WSS had 10 hits led by Friese with two singles, a triple and three RBI, Karly Wetherell with a single, triple and two RBI and Arora Rincker with two singles and an RBI. Jackie Vonderheide added a single and an RBI.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was aided by five Okaw Valley errors and 11 walks.

Neoga came calling and tallied 15 hits in a 16-3 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

Rayna Coy had three singles and an RBI while Lola Hartke had two doubles and three RBI, Lillian Denson and Maddie Frankie had two singles each. EmmaRee McTeer and Chloe Frankie had one single and two RBI each.

Maleah Coy picked up the win on the mound, going five innings, allowing three runs on no hits, seven walks and striking out nine.

Neoga is now 3-1 in the National Trail Conference and 6-2 overall.

South Central scored all its runs in the first two innings in a 10-2 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown Thursday.

The Falcons scored four in the first and six in the second. SEB's two runs came in the fourth and fifth.

Addy Ruholl went three innings to pick up the pitching victory. She allowed no hits, one walk while striking out four. Annie Ruholl went the final four innings, allowing two runs on one hit, two walks and striking out four.

Kennah Hiestand led South Central with a single, triple and two RBI while Kyndl Bolen had a single, double and two RBI.  Ad. Ruholl had two singles and an RBI. Maddie Peddicord and Baylee Brown had a triple and an RBI each. Claire Chasteen had a single and two RBI.

St. Elmo/Brownstown's K. Speagle had a single and an RBI each.

Altamont edged Dieterich by a 7-6 tally Thursday.

Altamont held a 2-0 third inning lead. Dieterich tallied one in the top of the fifth but Altamont came back in the bottom of the frame to move ahead 6-1. Dieterich fought back with two in the sixth and three in the seventh only to fall short.

Altamont had five hits led by Sophia Long with two singles and two RBI, Ada Roberts with a single and three RBI and Jocelyn Pearcy with a single and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Kensi Stortzum with two singles and two RBI, Claire Faller and Allison Boerngen with a double each and Kynzly Douthit with a single and two RBI.

At Altamont

Cumberland took the early lead and went on to hand Martinsville a 16-9 loss in Thursday action.

The winners banged out 13 hits in the contest and were aided by eight Martinsville errors.

Jude Miller had a single, home run and three RBI, while Kinley McMechan had three singles and an RBI. Baya Carter and Josie Smith had a double each. Carter added two RBI. Lauren Schnepper and Avery Millsap added two singles each.

Smith went five innings allowing nine runs on nine hits, two walks and three strikeouts for the win.
