TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham Junior High School broke a 1-1 first inning tie and went on to beat Teutopolis by a 10-2 count in softball Thursday.

The Mustangs knocked out 14 hits in the contest. Olivia Koester had four singles while Madi Summers had three singles and two RBI. Keagyn Koenig finished with two singles while Molly Maxedon had a single and two RBI. Aubrey Poe added a single and an RBI. April Martin had an RBI.

Poe went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, no walks and striking out two for the win on the mound. Elizabeth Kreke came in to finish out the last three innings, allowing one run on two hits, three walks and striking out three.

T-town was led in hitting by Reagan Slater and Abby Kocher with two singles each. Slater added an RBI.

At Neoga

Neoga had a big seven-run fourth inning to tallied a 12-6 win over Effingham St. Anthony Thursday.

Neoga held a 3-1 lead after two innings but the Bullpups came back to move ahead with four runs in the third. Neoga then went on a tear with a seven-run fourth and tacked on two more runs in the fifth for the victory.

EmmaRee McTeer led the winners with two singles, a double and two RBI. Hanna Propst added two doubles and an RBI while Rayna Coy had a single, double and two RBI. Maddie Frankie had a single and drove in three runs. Maleah Coy finished with two singles.

St. Anthony had four hits, all singles by Mallory Litz, Livia Jansen, Claire Kinkelaar and Reese Hoene. Litz and Jansen had an RBI each.

Neoga's M. Coy picked up the win, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing no hits, seven walks and striking out five.

Sigel St. Michael came calling and picked up a 12-1 win over host Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

The Sharpshooters took a 3-0 first inning lead and never ooked back, ending this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.

St. Michael had eight hits and was aided by four CHBC errors.

Will had a single, two triples and drove in five runs for the winners. Holley had a single and triple.J. Niemerg had a single and an RBI and B. Niemerg had an RBI.

CHBC had three hits. Brylie Prater led the way with a single and double while Emma Hood had a single.

The winning pitcher was Will.

At Cowden

Jasper County punched out 14 hits and finished with a 10-4 victory over Casey-Westfield Thursday.

The Eagles tied the score at 4-4 in the second inning then tallied five to push ahead in the fourth.

J. Reich led the way for the winners in hitting with two singles and a double. P. Wagner had a single, triple and three RBI while J. Dhom had single, double and two RBI. E. Inyart had three singles and an RBI and E. Brooks two singles and two RBI.. G. Flowers added a single and an RBI.

L. Ghast picked up the win, going all seven innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, no walks while striking out seven.

At Casey
