S.C. Wins Olney Tourney, WSS, Dieterich, T-town, Altamont Nab Softball Wins

The Cougars defeated Lawrenceville 8-3 behind a 16-hit attack. Laney Webster had a single, triple and drove in two runs while Taeagan Webster had two singles and a double. Halle Smith added two doubles, Brooklyn Garrett two singles and two RBI, Abi Shuler two singles and an RBI and Lily Malne a triple and an RBI.
T. Webster won on the mound, going six innings allowing one hit, four walks and striking out seven.
In the championship contest, South Central edged Olney, 3-2.
L. Webster hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh for the victory.
T. Webster again picked up the pitching win, allowing two runs on six hits, two walks and striking out seven.
Garrett added a single and double while Ella Watwood had a double.
South Central is now 21-10 on the season and will play its last regular season contest today against Cumberland before entering regional action.

Grace Lemke tossed a no-hitter as Altamont blanked Okaw Valley, 5-0 in Friday action.
Lemke went the distance striking out a whopping 18 batters and allowing only two walks. She also came up big offensively with three singles and three RBI.
Altamont stepped out to a 2-0 opening inning lead then had single runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings.
Peyton Osteen had a three singles and an RBI while Claire Boehm had two singles.

At Shelbyville
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg opened the first inning with two runs and that set the tone for the game as the Hatchets finished out with an 11-2 win over Shelbyville Saturday.
The Hatchets tallied five runs in the sixth as Ella Kinkelaar, Karlie Bean, Ava Richards and Sam Hayes each drove in runs.
WSS finished with 14 hits as Bean had a single, double and two RBI, Maddy Pfeiffer two singles and two RBI, Richards a single, double and an RBI. Nataile Hayes added two singles and an RBI and Kinkelaar's hit was a single with two RBI. Sam Porter added a double, Ellie Wittenberg two singles and S. Hayes a single and an RBI.
S. Hayes was the winner on the mound, going all seven frames, allowing two runs on six hits, two walks while striking out 10.

Dieterich scored all the runs it needed in the fourth inning and held on for a 7-5 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Friday.
CHBC took a 1-0 opening inning lead and led 2-0 in the top of the fourth. However, the Movin' Maroons came back with seven in the bottom of the frame.
Dieterich had 11 hits led by Marli Michl with a single, home run and one RBI, Brittany Niemerg with a single, triple and an RBI, Eva Meinhart with a single, double and an RBI, Kaitlyn Boerngen with a double, Jadelyn Pruemer with two singles and Megan Bierman with a single and an RBI.
CHBC was led by Macee Rodman and Marissa Summers with two singles and two RBI each.

Teutopolis took the early lead and edged Newton, 3-1 in Friday competition.
The Wooden Shoes scored single runs in the first three innings. Newton's run came in te top of the third.
T-town had four hits. Emily Konkel and Daisha Piedra had a double each while Kaylee Niebrugge added a single and an RBI and Summer Wall a single.
Courtney Gibson went the distance allowing one run on two hits, three walks and six strikeouts.
Lexie Grove had a double and Ava Kessler a single.
