Effingham St. Anthony slammed out 15 hits and ended its high school softball contest against St. Elmo/Brownstown with a 12-0 win in five innings Monday.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on another run in the second. St. Anthony broke loose with a 10-run fourth.

Anna Faber led the way in hitting for St. Anthony with a home run and four RBI. Sidney Kibler contributed two singles and a triple while Abbie Hatton added a dobule, triple and an RBI. Lucy Fearday finished with a single, double and an RBI and Addie Wernsing a double and an RBI. Cameran Rios, Madeline Kibler and Grace Karolewicz added a single and an RBI each.

St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Kelly Moss with a double and Olivia Baker with a single.

S. Kibler was the winner on the mound going three innings allowing one hit, one walk and striking out five.

The Bulldogs improved to 11-2 on the season.

At Brownstown

At Kinmundy

Teutopolis came calling and edged South Central, 6-5 in Monday action.

The Wooden Shoes took a 3-1 lead in the second inning. South Central came back to move ahead 4-3 in the third inning. Both teams scored single runs in the fifth. The Wooden Shoes tied the score at 5-5 in the sixth and won it with a run in the top of the seventh.

T-town had 10 hits led by Emily Konkel with two solo home runs for two RBI. Konkel's first homer moved the Shoes into the lead and the second one was the winner in the top of the seventh. Danielle Sarchet had a single, two triples and an RBI. Jordan Goeckner added two singles and an RBI and Estella Mette had two RBI.

South Central was led by Ella Watwood with a single, double and an RBI and Laney Webster and Abi Shuler with two singles and an RBI each. The Cougars drop to 9-5 on the season and return to action today against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

Courtney Gibson was the winner on the mound, going the final three innings, allowing three hits, two walks and striking out two.

At Altamont

Karlie Bean threw a no-hitter as Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg was a winner over Altamont in six innings Monday, 11-1.

Bean went all six innings allowing one run on no hits, four walks while striking out 13.

The Hatchets edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then added on three in the second and fifth and four in the sixth to end the contest via the 10-run rule.

Maddy Pfeiffer had two singles and an RBI for the winners while Bean and Sam Hayes had a single and two RBI each. Kaylyn Carey and Alaira Friese had a single and an RBI each. Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 9-3 on the season.

Altamont's Lanie Tedrick had the lone RBI.

At Newton

Newton ended this contest in the sixth inning via the 10-run rule, 10-0 over Red Hill (Bridgeport) Monday.

The Eagles took a 1-0 first inning lead then tallied six in the second, two in the fourth and ended the contest in the sixth.

Amber Russell led the way for the Eagles in hits with a single, triple and two RBI. Kayla Kocher contributed two singles and two RBI while Emma Kidwell had two singles and an RBI. Kayla "Kocher" Kocher, Lexie Grove and Morgan White had a single and an RBI each.

"Kocher" Kocher took the win on the mound, going the first three innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out six.

At Newton

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval stepped out to an 8-3 opening inning lead and went on for a 25-8 win over Dieterich in five innings Monday.

O/P/S held a 14-7 lead in the second then added on four in the fourth and seven in the fifth.

The winners had 18 hits in the contest while Dieterich had six. The Movin' Maroons committed nine errors.

Courtney Brummer had a solo home run for Dieterich while Madilyn Brummer added a double. Megan Bierman had a single and three RBI.
