Effingham St. Anthony's Sydney Kibler threw a no-hitter as the Bulldogs blanked Flora, 11-0 in softball action Monday.

Kibler went the distance on the mound, allowing only one walk while striking out 12 in the no-hitter.

Meanwhile the Bulldogs had 11 hits in the contest led by Haley Niebrugge with a single, double and two RBI, S. Kibler had a single and double. Cameran Rios and Addie Wernsing had two singles each. Wernsing added an RBI. Anna Faber had a single and drove in two runs while Madeline Kibler had a single and one RBI.

The Bulldogs tallied two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

At St. Anthony

At Paris

Paris High School swept out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and went on to down Effingham, 7-2 in Monday action.

The Tigers scored two more runs in the sixth and finished with seven hits in the contest. Five of those hits were for extra bases, a triple and four doubles.

Effingham had three hits led by Grace Bushur with a two-run homer in the seventh. Riley Cunningham and Abby Cunningham had a single each for the other Hearts hits.

At Teutopolis

Both teams had 10 hits, but Teutopolis put together nine runs for a 9-4 victory over Olney Monday.

The Wooden Shoes held a 3-0 lead in the third and tacked on four more in the fourth for a 7-0 lead. Olney tallied three in the fifth. T-town came back with two more in the sixth and Olney scored a final run in the top of the seventh.

Daisha Piedra had three singles and drove in three runs while Kaylee Niebrugge had a single, double and three RBI. Emily Konkel added a double and an RBI and Olivia Copple a double. Erin Althoff added a single and an RBI.

Courtney Gibson was the winner on the mound allowing 10 hits, no walks and striking out six.

At Teutopolis

At Mount Zion

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg trailed Mount Zion 1-0 until the third then was tied until the fourth when the Hatchets took the lead for good and a 5-3 victory Monday.

Mount Zion took the first inning 1-0 lead. WSS tallied three in the top of the third but the Braves tied in the bottom of the frame. WSS came back with two in the fourth for the win.

WSS banged out 10 hits in the contest led by Maddy Pfeiffer with three singles, a double and three RBI and Natalie Hayes with two singles, a double and an RBI. Karlie Bean added a double and an RBI.

Bean was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and nine strikeouts.

At Mount Zion

Newton edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule, 10-0 over Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine Monday.

The Eagles' Kayla Kocher went three innings allowing no runs on no hits, no walks while striking out five. Emma Kidwell came on two finish out the final two innings, allowing no runs on two hits and no walks.

Amber Russell led the Eagles in hitting with a single, double, home run and five RBI. Lexie Grove had a triple and an RBI while Jessilyn Hall  had a double and Camryn Martin two singles.

At Newton

South Central fell to Vandalia in a 3-2 contest Monday.

The Vandals held a 1-0 lead in the first inning then tacked on two more in the second. The Cougars scored a run in the bottom of the second and one in the third but couldn't come up with another run.

South Central had six hits led by Kaitlyn Swift with a single and double. Lily Malone and Ella Watwood had a single and an RBI each.

South Central drops to 3-2 and returns to action at St. Anthony Wednesday.

At Kinmundy

Dieterich played host to Mulberry Grove and fell to the visitors by a 12-6 count Monday.

The Movin' Maroons held a 3-2 lead until the fourth when Mulberry Grove broke loose with seven runs.

Dieterich had seven hits in the contest led by Megan Bierman with a double and three RBI, Brittney Niemerg with a single and two RBI and Eva Meinhart with a single and an RBI.

Altamont held a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but Sullivan came back with six runs in the bottom of the frame and went on for an 11-7 victory Monday.

The Indians pulled within 9-7 in the fifth with four runs but Sullivan tacked on two more in the sixth.

Altamont had five hits led by Ellie McManaway with a single and double. Ciara Hankins had a single and two RBI while Peyton Osteen had a single and an RBI. Adria Denton added an RBI.

North Clay/Clay City drops to 2-2 on the season and will be back in action today, weather permitting, against Webber Township (Bluford).

 

At Brownstown

Okaw Valley came calling and blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown, 10-0 Monday.
