CHARLESTON -- Teutopolis Junior High School fell to Charleston in softball action Wednesday, 5-1.

Charleston took a 1-0 lead in the first, tacked on two more runs in the third and fourth and two in the sixth. The Wooden Shoes' lone run came in the fourth.

T-town had two hits ed by Malea Helmink with a triple and an RBI and Olivia Wermert with a single.

Charleston had six hits led by A. Beals with two singles, a double and an RBI.

At Central City

South Central pounded Central City, 17-2 in five innings Wednesday.

South Central held a 4-1 first inning lead then had five-run innings in the second and fifth, a single run in the third and two in the fourth.

The winners had 17 hits in the contest led by Kinlee Thompson with a single, triple and three RBI, Addy Ruholl, Amelia Montes, Zoey Feldhake and Chloe Amos with two singles each. Amos had two RBI while Ruholl, Montes and Feldhake had an RBI each.

South Central improved to 6-2 and is back in action today against St. Elmo/Brownstown.
