Effingham St. Anthony High School pounded home eight runs in the first inning and took control early in a 13-0 win over South Central in softball action Tuesday.

The Bulldogs tallied a single run in the second and four more in the sixth.

St. Anthony had 12 hits in the contest while Woltman pitched a four-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Kabbes had three singles and an RBI, Woltman a single, double and an RBI, L. Day a single, double and three RBI, Kinkelaar single, triple and three RBI and Roepke a double and an RBI.

South Central was led by Sigrist and Rivera with a double each.

At Toledo

Cumberland played host to  Altamont and claimed a 13-5 win.

The Pirates banged out 12 hits in the contest led by Hendrix with a double, home run and two RBI, Sowers with three singles and an RBI, Dunaway with a triple and an RBI, Green with a double, J. Oakley with a double and an RBI and S. Oakley with a double and three RBI. Williams chipped in with two singles and two RBI.

Altamont had eight hits led by Goeckner with two singles and an RBI. The Indians drop to 1-5 on the season.

Odin had two three-run innings in downing Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 7-4.

The Eagles took a 3-2 first inning lead but the two teams were tied at 4-4 after three innings. Odin then had a three-run fourth.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 17 hits and tallied a 12-0 win over Dieterich in five innings Tuesday.

WSS held a 4-0 first inning lead. The Hatchets were led in hitting by Mackenzi Tabbert with a single, double, home run and an RBI, Carson Cole with a double, Ava Bennet with a single, triple and an RBI, Sydney Tabor with a double and Taylor Rentfrow with a double and an RBI.
