Junior Softball Results -- Sept. 21

ST. PETER -- South Central edged Salem 10-9 in girls junior high school softball action Monday.

South Central held an 8-3 lead in the third. Salem pulled within 8-7 in the fourth. Salem tied the score at 9-9 in the seventh. South Central's Angelica Rivera had the game-winning single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh with runners at second and third. Pinch runner Marva Vandygriff scored from third.

Laney Webster had a single, two doubles, a triple and two RBI. Rivera had a single, double and three RBI and Sydnee Garrett two singles and an RBI. South Central is 12-2 and will play Wednesday in the Edwards County (Albion) Regional against Wayne City at 4 p.m.
