Local Connections On Notre Dame Soccer Team

Sebastian Green competes for the Notre Dame University soccer team. He is the son of Greg Green who graduated from Effingham St. Anthony High School and is the grandson of Dick and  Sue Green.

Notre Dame was making a run for its second National title on Monday evening but fell short with a 2-1 loss to Clemson. The Tigers stepped out to a 2-0 lead. Notre Dame got one goal back in the 90th minute as Paddy Burns had a penalty kick.

Although the Irish outshot Clemson by a 15-9 count including a 5-3 shots-on-goal, they saw their season end with a 13-3-6 record.

Notre Dame captured the ACC Atlantic division crown this season.
