WILLIAMSVILLE -- Teutopolis High School saw its outstanding season come to an end in the Class 1A Williamsville Soccer Sectional championship match Tuesday.

Williamsville blanked the Wooden Shoes, 2-0. T-town finished its season with an 18-3 record.

Goals came as Sawyer Woods took a pass from Drew Mirabile at the 10-minute mark in the second half and Bret Mizuer scored on a pass from Reid Bodine with 12:03 left in the second half. Garrett Timm had the shutout for the Bullets.

The Bullets won their first sectional title since 2013 and now advance to the super-sectional at Virden North Mac. The team will play the winner of the Murphysboro Sectional Saturday, either Alton Marquette or Columbia. Those two teams play today at Belleville Althoff High School at 7 p.m.

"We fought hard, just couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net," said T-town tennis Coach Aaron Wendt. "Our defense played very well despite the two goals scored and Keeper Noah Thompson had nine saves.

"We are so proud of our team and all we accomplished this year."
