Teutopolis Advances To Regional Soccer Championship

GREENVILLE -- Teutopolis High School traveled to the Class 1A Greenville Soccer Regional Friday and blanked Pana Co-op, 3-0.

The first goal of the game was scored by Carter Davidson, assisted by Gavin Tegeler. The second goal came when Gavin Runde connected with the net on an assist by Cooper Tegeler. The third goal was an own goal by Pana.

Teutopolis improved to 16-2 and will travel back to Greenville to play for the regional championship Tuesday against host Greenville at 4:30 p.m.

In the second match Friday, Greenville handed Staunton Co-op a 4-2 loss.

 

Class 1A St. Anthony Regional

In Saturday play, Newton handed Altamont Co-op a 4-1 loss.

Newton now advances to face Hillsboro for the regional championship at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Class 3A Effingham Regional

In Friday's opening match, Salem was a 3-1 winner over Richland County (Olney).

The Wildcats advance to a 4 p.m. contest against Troy Triad at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

In the second match Wednesday, Effingham will take on Highland at 6.
