EHS Beats Robinson, T-town Downs Wesclin In Soccer

Effingham High School extended its record to 11-3 on the soccer season by blanking Robinson 6-0 Saturday.

The Hearts' Camilio Aden scored two goals while Maicol Sefton, Andrew Wagoner, Gage Kinder and Jake Niebrugge tallied one goal each.

Sefton, Wagoner, Kinder and Sebastian Simoni had one assist each. Xander Marler finished with three saves.

"We had a strong performance today, controlling a lot of the possession with passing and teamwork," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We now look forward to some tough matchups this week with Mattoon Tuesday, HIllsboro Wednesday and Mount Zion Thursday."

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis High School blanked Trenton Wesclin in both varsity and junior varsity action Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes downed Wesclin 5-0 in the varsity match. Ethan Thoele had two goals whlie Gavin Runde, Josh Habing and Evan Waldhoff scored one each.

Cooper Tegeler had two assists and Joe Niebrugge, Thoele and Habing had one each.

The Wooden Shoes improved to 11-1 on the season.

In the junior varsity matchup, T-town's Joey Probst had a hat trick scoring all three goals for a 3-0 victory over Wesclin. Landyn Buening and Simon Lee had an assist each. The Wooden Shoes are now 7-0 on the season.

The Shoes have a busy week hosting Robinson in a 6 p.m. varsity contest today then hosting Newton at 6 p.m. Tuesday and traveling to Breese Mater Dei Saturday. The junior varsity will be off until Saturday.
