EHS, T-town Win In Soccer, St. A Falls

Effingham High School pushed its record to 10-1 on the season by blanking Taylorville by a 7-0 count in soccer play Saturday.

"We played together, possessing and passing the ball well which brought in goals from different people," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We had seven different goal scorers on our seven goals showing the teamwork we played with. That also makes 10 different goal scorers on the season.

"I loved seeing the team chemistry and winning mentality this team has. That will continue to set us up for more wins."

Scoring a goal each were Maicol Sefton, Camilo Aden, Aiden Hanks, Gage Kinder, Sam Spicer, Jake Niebrugge and Edu Crespo.

Sefton and Aden had two assists each while Hanks had one assist. Brady Wilson had a save for the Hearts.

 

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis tallied a 6-0 win over Carlyle Saturday.

Josh Habing and Ethan Thoele scored two goals each for the Shoes while Gavin Tegeler and Joe Niebrugge had a goal each.

Tegeler had two assists asnd Gavin Buening one.

"We are now 8-1 and back to our home pitch for both varsity and junior varsity matches against Effingham today," said T-town Coach Aaron Wendt.

 

At Olney

Effingham St. Anthony fell to host Richland County in a match Saturday, 8-1.

"We had a very physical game against Olney and were missing two of our starters," said St. Anthony Coach Martin Reyes.

Maddox Wiedman scored the lone goal from far away.
