Both Effingham and St. Anthony Post Shutout Wins Tuesday

Effingham continues to roll this season, blanking Newton Tuesday 2-0.

Hearts Coach Logan Arney said, "It was a very physical and hard fought game, but we came out on top due to a strong team effort." 

Effingham's record improved to 8-1 on the season.

For Effingham: Maicol Sefton scored two goals, Camilo Aden scored the other goal, and Xander Marler had 13 saves in goal.

St. Anthony posted a shutout win over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Tuesday 2-0.

Bulldogs Coach Martin Reyes said, "We started strong with many opportunities, but the first half ended tied at 0-0. Five minutes into the second half, sophomore Michael Wright made a deep pass to the center of the box where senior Carson Fallert scored our first goal. 25 minutes later, junior Harrison Miller jumped on a challenged ball in the box and headed the ball to the back of the net."
