Effingham fell to Mattoon 3-0 in the Charleston Red & Gold Tournament Thursday.

"We lost after a hard fought game," said EHS Coach Logan Arney. "We had several great chances  including one shot that the Mattoon keeper made a great save on. Last season we lost 9-0 to Mattoon, so big improvement from last year.
