First round action was seen Tuesday at the St. Anthony/Teutopolis Soccer Tournament.

Teutopolis won their opening match against Robinson 7-1.

Teutopolis got goals from Ethan Thoele scored four goals, Nolan Runde scored twice and Evan Waldhoff scored a goal.

Meanwhile, Greenville shutout St. Anthony Tuesday 3-0.

St. Anthony Coach Martin Reyes said, "Our team played great for the first two-thirds of the game. The three goals came late in the game after a couple of mistakes due to tiredness. We don't have a player of the game, because the whole defense played great and kept us in the game. Great defensive efforts came from our captains Pierce Verdeyen, Evan Mossman, and from Evan Meyer, Marvin Rodriguez and Ronan Bailey.

In other contests, Mt. Carmel beat Pinckneyville 3-1 at St. Anthony, and Newton beat Altamont 1-0 and Harrisburg won over Salem 4-1 in the other contests at Teutopolis.

The tournament will continue on Thursday.
