Hope Solo, the former star goalkeeper of the U.S. women’s national soccer team, pled guilty Monday to driving while impaired in a March 31 incident in which she was found passed out behind the wheel in a North Carolina shopping center parking lot with her two-year-old twins in the vehicle and the engine running.

Solo was given a 30-day jail sentence, a suspended sentence of 24 months, and was fined $2,500. She was given 30 days credit for time she spent at an in-patient rehabilitation facility, and must get a substance abuse assessment and complete all recommended treatment.
