Kahne Holds Off Gordon For Win At Pocono

(Long Pond, PA) -- Kasey Kahne claimed his second Sprint Cup Series victory of the season by winning Sunday's 400-mile race at Pocono Raceway. Kahne says Jeff Gordon was tough to fight off down the stretch.

Kahne passed Gordon on a restart with two laps to go and held on for his 16th-career win. Kahne jumped up to eighth in the standings with five races to go before the Chase. Kurt Busch finished third followed by Ryan Newman and Dale Earnhardt Jr.  Jimmie Johnson remains atop the standings with a 77-point lead over Clint Bowyer.  Carl Edwards is 84 points back of Johnson. The Cup series takes on a road course next week at Watkins Glen.
