Bass Fishing Sectionals Are Scheduled Today

Three hundred and eleven schools have teams entered in this year's Illinois High School Association bass fishing state tournament series.

There are 25 sectionals around the state with anglers trying to get to the State Finals later this month at Carlyle Lake. This marks the 15th year for the IHSA State Tournament Series in bass fishing.

Area teams are entered in two sectionals. Brownstown/St. Elmo, Effingham St. Anthony, North Clay Co-op, Newton, South Central and Teutopolis will be competing in the Newton Lake Sectional. Also entered are Fairfield, Flora, Oblong, Richland County, Palestine, Patoka and Salem.

Neoga and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg will be competing in the Lake Shelbyville Sectional. Other teams include Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, Bethany Okaw Valley, Casey-Westfield, Charleston, Decatur Eisenhower Co-op, Kansas Co-op, Macon Meridian, Martinsville, Moweaqua Central A&M, Mount Zion, Shelbyville and Sullivan.
