William Byron was second with four laps remaining on the final restart at the Daytona 500 Monday.

Byron and Ross Chastain fought back and forth for the lead. Byron moved ahead and a crash happened behind him as he crossed under the white flag for the victory at the Daytona 500.

Byron was followed by his teammate Alex Bowman in a sweep for Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports breaking a nine-year losing streak at the Daytona 500. The last time a Hendrick driver won was Dale Earnhardt Jr. in 2014.

Austin Hill was the winner of the Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway. He won the last two years.

Hill won with his No. 21 Chevlrolet for Richard Childress Racing.

Second went to Sheldon Creed, third to Parker Retzlaff and fourth to Jordan Anderson.
