Loyzhonkytonkhero Wins At Fulton Co. Fair

LEWISTOWN -- Loyzhonkytonkhero, owned by Jackson Loy of Beecher City, won the Northern Illinois Colt Association Stakes for three-year-old trotters Tuesday evening at the 117th Fulton County Fair. 

Trained by Mike Rogers and driven by Robert Decker, age 85, of Atwater, Loyzhonkytonkhero won for the second time this year and for the first time since June 25. The margin of victory was less than one length, as the time for the mile was 2:13.2. 

Earlier this week, Bell Boots won the Illinois Big Ten Colt Stakes for two-year-old trotting fillies at the Edgar County Fair in Paris for owner Toni Bell of Windsor and trainer Barry Bell. Owned also by winning driver Freddie Patton Jr., Bell Boots got the mile in 2:18.4 in winning for the first time in her career. 

The harness racing circuit moves next to the Effingham County Fair, with the first of six days of racing set to begin at Altamont this Sunday at 1 p.m.
