Islanders' Zdeno Chara Breaks Record; NHL Weekend Schedule

The New York Islanders’ Zdeno Chara broke the NHL record for games by a defenseman in his 1,652nd regular season game Thursday night.

The 44-year-old, 24-season veteran got a standing ovation from the San Jose Sharks’ home crowd, and the Sharks played a congratulations video from former San Jose forward Patrick Marleau, who holds the record for any player. The Islanders lost 4-3.
