Teutopolis Will Compete At State Bass Fishing Tournament

Teutopolis High School will be sending three competitors to the State Bass Fishing Tournament after area teams competed in sectional action recently.

T-town was a member of the sectional at Forbes Lake.

Patoka #1 claimed the championship with bass weighing in at 9 pounds, 15 ounces. Placing second was Carlyle #2 with 9 pounds, 2 ounces. Teutopolis #1 finished third with 9 pounds.

The top three teams move on to State Tournament action this coming Friday and Saturday at Carlyle Lake.

Other teams in the field were: Patoka #2, 8 pounds, 8 ounces; Carlyle #1, 6 pounds, 12 ounces; Newton #2, 6 pounds 8 ounces; South Central #1, 6 pounds; Teutopolis #2, 5 pounds, 4 ounces; Flora #2, 4 pounds, 15 ounces; Flora #1, 4 pounds; South Central #2, 3 pounds, 8 ounces; Centralia #1, 2 pounds, 8 ounces; Centralia #2, 2 pounds, 7 ounces; Newton #1, 2 pounds and Salem #1, 1 pound, 15 ounces.

Members of the Teutopolis team are Hunter Sandschafer, Ethan Thoele and Collin Probst. Head coach is Jeff Niebrugge and driver is Corey Sandschafer.

Neoga competed in the sectional at Lake Shelbyville, finishing in sixth place with 6 pounds.

Mount Zion #1 won the sectional with 12 pounds, 6 ounces followed by Bethany Okaw Valley #2, 8 pounds, 2 ounces and Decatur St. Teresa #1, 8 pounds. Those three teams advance to the State Tournament.
