Authentic picked up the Breeders' Cub Classic, going wire-to-wire to win at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky. Saturday.

He won by 2 1/4 lengths over Improbable. Both horses are trained by Bob Baffert.

Authentic claimed his fifth victory in seven starts this year.

Gamine, also trained by Baffert, opened with a record-setting time in the Filly and Mare Sprint. Gamine won in 1:20.20 over seven furlongs. That broke the old mark of 1:21.32 set in 2014.

Winning the Distaff for top fillies and mares three-years-old and up was Monomoy Girl.Trained by Brad Cox, the five-year-old won for the 13th time in 15 races.
