Elliott Wins The Roval, AJ Allmendinger Gets Xfinity Victory

Chase Elliott claimed a victory at the Charlotte Roval to advance to the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 8.

Elliott has now won back-to-back races at the track and has taken the checkered flag four straight times on road courses. 

Eight drivers that entered the day above the cutline advanced into the next round: Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr, Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski and Alex Bowman.

Defending champion Kyle Busch was eliminated along with Austin Dillon, Clint Bowyer and Aric Almirola.

At Concord, N.C.

AJ Allmendinger claimed the Xfinity Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway despite a rainstorm.

He won for the second time in 10 starts. The race was stopped for 40 minutes to dry off the track.

Eliminated in the playoffs were Harrison Burton, Michael Annett, Riley Herbst and Brandon Brown.
