Tampa Bay Beats Dallas To Even Stanley Cup

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Dallas Stars 3-2 Monday night to even up the Stanley Cup Final at one game each.

Tampa Bay scored all three of its goals in the first period, getting them within a less than four-minute span, and then held on for the win, allowing Dallas one goal in both the second and third periods. Game 3 will be played Wednesday. 

 

OIlers' Draisait Named MVP

Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisait was named the winner of the National Hockey League's Hart Trophy as MVP Monday night, the first German player to win the award in voting by the Professional Hockey Writers Association. Draisaitl, who led the league in scoring with 110 points in 71 games, also won the Ted Lindsay Award for most outstanding player as voted by the players themselves. The Colorado Avalanche's Cale Makar was named the winner of the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year.
