The International Olympic Committee on Tuesday released revamped qualifying regulations for the Tokyo Olympics, which were supposed to take place this summer but have been rescheduled for next summer because of the pandemic.

The new rules say the approximately 6,500 athletes who'd already qualified for the Games will keep their spots for when the Olympics are held next year.
