The Ivy League canceled its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments Tuesday because of coronavirus concerns, and will give its automatic NCAA Tournament bids to the regular-season champions, the Yale men and Princeton women. The Mid-American Conference said it would have restricted fan attendance at its men’s and women’s tournaments this week in Cleveland, and the Big West said its men’s and women’s tournaments in Southern California will be played without fans.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee is reportedly set to announce a ban today on gatherings of more than 250 people in most of the Seattle area, including sports events. Among what it could affect: the XFL’s Seattle Dragons host the L.A. Wildcats Sunday; Spokane is hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA men's basketball tournament on March 19 and 21; and MLB’s Seattle Mariners open their season at home on March 26. It's not known yet what the teams will do.
