The Meek and Settle families.

Speed.  This fleeting, and at times, frustrating pursuit is one of the most beloved traditions in American culture. Sprawling across the landscape of this great country, a unique group of racers relentlessly chase a common goal: to be the fastest competitor on the track.

The style of racing is simple in concept, difficult to master. A patch of land, tilled as flat as possible, and shaped like an oval, becomes the arena for a growing sect of American racing heritage known as, flat track racing!  Speed-hungry young men and women mount race-prepared motorcycles to battle each other for money and glory, in the bullring of competition.

Flat track racing has existed for nearly a century in an organized format.  This style of Motorsports is arguably the oldest form of motorcycle racing still in existence. Racing and competition courses in our blood and is deeply ingrained in American history.
Following this racing legacy, UnSettled Racing is a flat track team comprised of two brothers: Jackson Settle, eight years old, and Wesley Settle, five years old, from Effingham. Both brothers attend St. Anthony Grade School and are active in the community.

During the 2019 race season, Jackson and Wesley competed in 25 races in four states including Florida, Alabama, Indiana and Illinois.
Jackson won 11 out of 12 AMA district 17 races on his PW 50, winning the AMA Illinois District 17 championship in his second season.  Jackson also competed in “outlaw races” (not AMA sanctioned) against a wide array of experienced racers, and heavily modified race bikes. In addition, he raced in the 50 Chain class on a KTM 50.  Jackson finished third in district points against a challenging and talented class of future legends.

Wesley had his debut season on the PW 50 chasing his big brother on the track.  Wesley wrapped his inaugural season third in the AMA Illinois district 17 points.

Jackson and Wesley are the sons of Greg and Amanda Settle and the grandsons of Ron and Beverly Meek.

"This is a family affair as we travel across the state and country helping the two hone their skills flatrack racing," said Grandpa Ron Meek. "They both had a very successful year in 2019. The one unique aspect is that their dad,  Lt. Colonel Greg Settle, is in the Army and when he is away on deployments and assignments Mimi and Papa along with their mother and team mascot Duncan (beagle) run the race team.

"We would like to thank the following sponsors: Mimi Racing, Cecil Brothers Racing, VFW, A1 Liquors, DMI property management, Nutrition Wise and Studio1203."
