Colombia’s Egan Bernal won the Tour de France. Bernal is the first winner of the event from South America and at the age of 22 he’s the youngest champion of the post-World War II era.

Teammate and defending champion Geraint Thomas finished second with Steven Kruijswijk taking third in the closest podium in the 116-year history of the race, with just 1 minute, 31 seconds separating the first three finishers.
