The Chicago Blackhawks have traded defenseman Henri Jokiharju to the Buffalo Sabres for forward Alex Nylander. Alex's father, Michael, played for Chicago from 1999-2002.

The Colorado Avalanche agreed to a two-year contract extension with coach Jared Bednar. Bednar is 103-116-27 in three seasons with the team and has taken them to back-to-back playoff appearances.

Predators Former Captain Johnson Dies

Former Nashville Predators captain Greg Johnson has died at the age of 48. The cause of death wasn’t given, but he retired in 2006 when a physical exam found an irregular heartbeat.
