The FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) tournament season will continue Saturday, June 8 with a T-H Marine FLW BFL Illini Division Tournament on Lake Shelbyville.

Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000 respectively in the one-day tournament.

Take-off is at 6 a.m. with weigh-in at 2:30 p.m.

Bass are expected to bite well at Lake Shelbyville. When the circuit visited in May 2018, fishing shallow flats near drops in the Lithia Springs are with a Wicked Lures In-Line Spinner and a Carolina-rigged creature bait was the key to victory for boater champion Michael Black.

Targeting mid-lake points with worms, jigs and crankbaits has also done well in previous BFL tournaments this time of year on Lake Shelbyville. Similar patterns are expected to be seen. The winner of this Illini Division Tournament will likely need a five-bass limit in the 15-pound-range.
