Red Tide Swim Team Takes First at Conference Meet

The Effingham Red Tide Swim Team took 1^st place at the Central Illinois Swim Conference Meet on July 28^th at Crystal Lake in Urbana. Team scores were Effingham, 2014.5, Indian Acres 1961, Crystal Lake 1905, Sholem 1644, Monticello 1537, Charleston 1000, Lincolnshire Fields 763, Tuscola 213 and Shelbyville 167.5. Top qualifiers will compete in the Summer League Swimming Championship meet at the Workman Sports Complex in Effingham on August 4^th.

The 9-10 girls relay of Allie Wilhelms, Mollie Slifer, Gracie Slifer, and Isabella Keller set a new team record in the medley relay. Allie Wilhelms broke the 50 backstroke record. The 11-12 boys relay of Aidan Braunecker, Tyler Sparks, Patrick Ciorna and Weldon Dunston IV broke both the medley relay record and the freestyle record for the team. Juls Harden broke the 50 butterfly team record.
