Sobotka's Arbitration Date Set

(St. Louis, MO) -- The NHL announced Wednesday that the St. Louis Blues and centerman Vladimir Sobotka are set for their arbitration meeting on July 21. Sobotka initially declined his arbitration rights, however the Blues notified him over the weekend that they would be using their club-elected arbitration option. With a meeting on the horizon, Sobotka is ineligible to receive an offer sheet from any other team.


Blackhawks Ink Kane, Toews To Eight-Year Extensions

(Chicago, IL) -- The Blackhawks are locking up star forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane to eight-year contract extensions through the 2022-23 season. TSN reports the deals will pay each $10.5-million per season on average. Kane and Toews each agreed to five-year, $31.5-million extensions in 2009.
