LUMINARIES FOR LIFE

On January 26th and 27th, please visit the "Luminaries for Life" display on the steps of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham.  Students from St. Anthony and Sacred Heart Parishes created hundreds of luminaries to promote the pro-life movement on the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision.  In 1973, this tragic court decision led to the legalization of abortion throughout all 9 months of pregnancy.  Today, abortion is by far the leading cause of death in our country with over 920,000 per year.

The luminaries will be lit and placed on the church steps as a visible memorial to the more than 60 million precious lives lost through abortion.  They serve as a beacon of hope for the future of all the unborn.  As you view the display please pray for an increased respect for life.

Special thanks to the Effingham Knights of Columbus for funding the project.  Visit the lighted displays on the evenings of January 26 & 27 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham.  In the event of inclement weather, the next weekend will be chosen.
