EHS Boys in Quadrangular Tuesday; Scores on Altamont, Teutopolis Matches

Effingham High School's boys golf squad competed in a quadrangular Tuesday at the Southside course in Decatur, taking on Taylorville, Mt. Zion and Shelbyville.

The results: Taylorville 178, Mt. Zion 180, Effingham 187, Shelbyville 207

Effingham Coach Jeff Schafer said, "I was very pleased with five scores in the 40s on a foreign course; we were really close to picking up three wins. We just have to keep knocking off a few shots and we can get there."

Aiden Beck led Effingham with a 44. Also playing for EHS: Tate Niebrugge 46, Ben Donsbach 48, Austin Waldhoff 49, Ryker Schneider 49 and Colby Heaton 54.

Lebo of Mt. Zion was medalist with a 41.

Effingham is now 4-4 on the fall; they're back in action Friday in Mt. Zion.

Altamont won a three-team boys meet in Oblong Tuesday. The final score: Altamont 183, Tri-County 199, Oblong 199.

Altamont's Grant Schmidt was the medalist with a 39. Also scoring for Altamont: Bryton Pruitt 46, Tyler Stonecipher 47, and Kevin Hall 51.

Altamont improved to 10-2 on the fall.

Two Altamont girls also played Tuesday. Their scores: Isabella Hosick 68, Megan Williams 70.

Teutopolis' boys team won a dual Tuesday over Pana at Cardinal Golf Course, 187-220.

Teutopolis' Carter Jansen was medalist with a 44. Other scores for T-Town: Jacob Herd 45, Zach Ruholl 45, Asa Hanson 49, Andy Niebrugge 49, Drew Kerner 51, Derek Ozenkoski 53, Gavin Meyer 56.
