K.C.'s Mahomes Suffers Ankle Sprain, NFL Scores

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday's divisional-round victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The nature of the injury to Mahomes' right ankle was confirmed Sunday by an MRI, which showed no other damage.

After the game on Saturday, Mahomes said he plans to play in next Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

 

Barkley Hoping for New Long-Term Deal

Running back Saquon Barkley is hoping for a new long-term deal from the New York Giants but isn't insistent on topping Christian McCaffrey's $16 million per year salary.

Barkley, 25, just played out the fifth-year option in his rookie contract and set a career high with 1,312 rushing yards while remaining healthy the entire season.

 

Commanders Open Sportsbook Inside Stadium

The Commanders opened the NFL's first sportsbook inside a stadium last Friday, partnering with Fanatics. The Arizona Cardinals opened a sportsbook in September that sits outside the stadium.

In Washington, no bets can be placed when the Commanders are playing at home.  The franchise received approval from the Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Commission for a sports wagering license on Aug. 17. They have a five-year license.
