Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. revealed on social media Monday that he’d undergone surgery a day after being shot in the leg Sunday in Washington, D.C., in what the team called an attempted robbery or carjacking.

The 23-year-old said the surgery went well and thanked people for their prayers. Head coach Ron Rivera said after practice that doctors had been positive, and Robinson is “doing well,” but there's no timeline for him to return.
