The NFL will be adding a Black Friday game to its schedule, the ‘Sports Business Journal’ reported Wednesday, most likely starting with the 2023 season.

Amazon, which won an exclusive ‘Thursday Night Football’ package for its Prime streaming service, will stream the game that will be taking place on the day after Thanksgiving, according to the report. The NFL already has three Thanksgiving Day games.

Cleveland Browns News

-- Cleveland Browns wide receiver and kick returner Jakeem Grant Sr. was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will miss the entire 2022 season with a torn Achilles that he suffered during practice Tuesday.

Grant was a Pro Bowl returner for the Chicago Bears last season, and the Browns signed him to a three-year deal in the offseason. Browns special team coordinator Mike Priefer sald earlier this week that he thought Grant would “transform” Cleveland’s return game.

-- The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to start Friday’s preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The news came as the Browns are waiting to see if Watson will be suspended longer than the six games he was given by the NFL’s disciplinary officer last week.

The NFL has appealed, seeking a season-long suspension. Some two dozen women accused Watson of sexual assault, misconduct or harassment during massages.
